RIVERTON, Utah (ABC4) — A 16-year-old Riverton teen is in custody after he allegedly shot his uncle three times during a dispute on Wednesday evening.

Josh Lee, a spokesperson for the Riverton Police Department, confirmed with ABC4.com that officers were called to the home near 13400 South and Homestead Lane around 6:30 p.m. on June 4. Upon arrival, they found the uncle with gunshot wounds in the front yard.

The uncle was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The teen, who has only been identified by age, allegedly fled the scene after the shooting. Lee said Riverton PD officers were able to find him and take him into custody in Herriman.
