WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) - The Watertown Urban Mission Meals on Wheels Program received a big boost from the United Way of Northern New York.

The Urban Mission announced that it received a $25,000 grant to support its Meals on Wheels Program from the United Way.

The service provides nutritious meals and critical wellness checks to homebound individuals in the area. This funding will allow the program to continue to serve seniors or those convalescing to have substantial, nutritious food that reduces food insecurity, helps to combat isolation, and has a large impact on health.

According to the Urban Mission, it delivers over 2,000 meals a month to over 60 individuals, many of which would not be able to shop or cook for themselves.
