ATLANTA — In an extended interview with 11Alive's The Georgia Vote , John King laid out his views in the early days of his U.S. Senate campaign.

The Republican Insurance Commissioner answered questions about his record and his motivation for entering the race.

Tort reform

Republican Gov. Brian Kemp put his political weight behind a legislative effort to overhaul the state's civil liability system. The effort, known by many as "tort reform," narrowly passed and was recently signed into law.

Many supporters argued it would lower Georgians' insurance premiums and protect businesses from expensive, frivolous lawsuits.
