ROMULUS, Mich. (WOOD) — People were directed off a Spirit Airlines plane at Detroit Metro Airport after a bomb threat Thursday morning, a Detroit news station reports.
People exited the plane around 9 a.m. as a "precaution," the airport told WDIV, the NBC affiliate in Detroit.
“On Thursday morning, the Wayne County Airport Authority’s Emergency & Support Services and Airfield Operations teams along with the TSA responded to a bomb threat involving a Spirit Airlines aircraft at Detroit Metropolitan Airport," The Wayne County Airport Authority said in a statement released to WDIV. "As a precaution, all passengers were safely deplaned and transported by bus to the Evans Terminal."
The statement said the situation was under investigation.
