KINGSLEY, Iowa (KTIV) - The police department for the Northwest Iowa community of Kingsley is warning residents after coyotes were spotted in town.

According to the department’s Facebook page , on Tuesday, June 3, and Wednesday, June 4, coyotes were spotted in the Kingsley area.

The police department says at around 11 p.m. Tuesday, on the south end of Kingsley, a coyote was attacking a person’s pet on their porch, which had a light on.

“If you have a small pet/pets, just be aware, if you let them out later in the evening or early morning, there could be a chance of them being attacked,” said the Kingsley Police Department on Facebook.

There was also a coyote spotted on Kingsley’s Dover Street, which is closer to the center of town.
