VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- A popular local radio DJ was arrested after police said he showed signs of intoxication while trying to enter a crime scene Wednesday morning.

According to officials, 43-year-old Brandon Stokes, also knows by his stage name "Shaggy" on Norfolk-based Z104's morning show, was charged with DUI and obstruction of justice.

Police said that just after 9:30 a.m., officers encountered Stokes in the 4600 block of Honeygrove Road, saying he was showing signs of intoxication while attempting to enter a nearby crime scene, in which officers shot a man brandishing a replica handgun at them.

A spokesperson with VBPD told WAVY 10 that officers saw Stokes arrive to the scene driving a vehicle.
