KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — The murder case against an 18-year-old Charleston man accused of shooting and killing a woman at a Kanawha City gas station is headed to a grand jury.
Jacob Fields, 18, waived his preliminary hearing on a first-degree murder charge this week for the death of 42-year-old Tiffany Adkins.
Adkins, who was from Marmet, was shot once in the head last week while she was in the Sheetz parking lot.
Fields initially claimed it was an accident, but Charleston police said surveillance video showed him pointing the gun at Adkins as she walked by the car he was sitting in.
The case now heads to circuit court as Fields remains in jail with no bond.
