COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Families lined up early to shop at a newly renovated Goodwill that is dedicated to kids Thursday morning.

The new section, called Goodwill Kids, opened today with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Goodwill of the Southern Rivers say the new 4,300-square-foot space is the first of it's kind in the region. The Goodwill Kids will feature a collection of kid's clothing, toys, books and accessories in an environment designed specifically with kids in mind.

Both donated and new items are available.

"The community is excited and I think there's a great need for it " said Julie Bennett, Goodwill's Director of Marketing and Communications. "That need for value-based clothing, toys and items for children is great and I think the community is responding to it today."
