A Lancaster County man is accused of sexually assaulting a York County woman during their first in-person meeting after connecting online, according to court documents obtained by Daily Voice on Thursday, June 5.

Ozkan Can, 39, of Lititz, was charged with felony involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion, felony aggravated indecent assault without consent, felony sexual assault, misdemeanor indecent assault without consent, and misdemeanor indecent assault by forcible compulsion, according to court documents.

The investigation began around 11 a.m. on Friday, May 31, when Can picked up the victim, from her home in Hanover, police said. The two had just met on Facebook and agreed to meet for their first date.

While driving back to Lititz, Can allegedly detoured into York and parked in the middle of the Greyhound bus station lot on East North Street without the victim’s consent. She later told police she had no idea what his intentions were when he stopped the car.

While parked, Can allegedly began kissing her, removed both her pants and his, and used his hand to stimulate her genitals, according to the affidavit of probable cause. He then took her hand and moved it up and down on his penis for several minutes, police wrote. When she pulled away, he reclined her seat and climbed on top of her, placing his hand on the back of her head to force her to perform oral sex, the affidavit states.

The victim told officers she was afraid to verbally refuse because she feared retaliation, though she shook her head “no” several times.

After the alleged assault, Can drove her to the Sheetz store on the 3900 block of East Market Street. She ran into the women’s restroom to escape, but Can allegedly tried to force his way inside, prompting other customers to intervene and call 911.

Both remained at the scene until York City Police arrived. While being interviewed, Can reportedly told Officer Young, “She kissed my penis.”

Can was arrested at the scene and later arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey L. Oberdorf, who denied bail. He is being held in York County Prison. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, June 13.
