LEXINGTON, S.C. — Police say one person has died following a crash that happened as a vehicle was exiting the interstate in Lexington on Thursday.

Trinity Dasani Jones, 22, of Columbia, was pronounced dead at a local hospital due to her injuries in the crash, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

The Lexington Police Department said the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. when a Toyota Scion exited I-20 Westbound at Exit 55. The vehicle then reportedly crossed multiple lanes of traffic and was struck by an outbound Acura in the 900 block of South Lake Drive.

Police said Jones, a passenger in the Toyota, was taken to Lexington Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
