KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A woman has been arrested and charged with murdering a pregnant woman on Christmas Eve of 2023 in Johnson County, Kansas.

Izabel Reed is charged in the death of Alexandrea Hunter and her unborn child.

Reed was arrested on Thursday, June 5. She's accused of distributing fentanyl to Hunter, which ultimately led to her death.

According to court documents, Hunter and her unborn child died on Dec. 24, 2023.

Reed faces the following charges: • First-degree murder • Distribution of controlled substance; Causing death • Distribute opiate, opium, narcotic, certain stimulant; < 3.5 grams • Distribute heroin/certain stimulants; 3.5 - < 100 gram • Distribute opiate, opium, narcotic, certain stimulant; < 3.5 grams • Distribute heroin/certain stimulants; 3.5 - < 100 gr
