ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — More than a year after the crime, Howard County Police have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in a shooting that left a husband and father of two dead in January 2024. A 25-year-old man is wanted for first-degree murder and gun charges in the death of Alex Ramirez Garcia, who was working as a snow plow driver at the time.

Garcia was clearing the parking lot of a Montessori school in the 4400 block of Montgomery Road in Ellicott City when he was shot. A passerby found Garcia outside his truck in the parking lot around 8:45 a.m. Police believe he had been shot around 5 a.m.
