Nashville police arrested a sixth suspect wanted in connection to a fatal September 2021 shooting.

On June 4, detectives arrested Dadiri Muhina, 24, on an outstanding grand jury indictment charging first-degree murder and evidence tampering after the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Ja’Niya Birdsong on September 26, 2021.

A 17-year-old girl was also shot in addition to Birdsong after an argument with Mohamed Sowa, the girl's ex-boyfriend, police said.

Birdsong died at the scene, and the 17-year-old was not critically injured, according to prior reporting from The Tennessean.
