JACKSON -- It’s been a couple of years since the Jackson High boys golf team sent a golfer to the state meet.

In 2022 it was Colin Norton heading to state, and the year before that Justin Bunch.

This year, the wait is over as the Vikings send not one but two golfers to the state finals with freshman Leo Nguyen and sophomore Brayden Norton.

“I’m just excited for the opportunity to be able to play in the state finals,” Nguyen said. “I’m going to make sure that I’m prepared. It’s just a good opportunity.”

Not only are Vikings going to be back at the state finals this year, they are going there with a freshman and a sophomore, which could give Jackson High representation at state for the next few years as well.
