CALDWELL, Idaho — Summertime in Idaho means hot temperatures and dry conditions. Neither of those aid in making firefighting easy.
To help mitigate fire risk, the city of Caldwell has implemented an immediate burn ban within city limits.
"The combination of dry conditions and elevated temperatures has significantly heightened the threat of wildfires in our area," said Alan Perry, Deputy Chief of Fire Prevention. "To protect our community, property, and natural resources, we are taking proactive steps to reduce that risk."
The decision was coordinated by Canyon County Dispatch, Caldwell Rural Fire District and the city of Caldwell.
There was a brush fire late last week, which was shared on social media.
Until conditions improve, the burn ban will stay in effect.
