SOUTH SALT LAKE (ABC4) -- A woman was arrested after allegedly leaving her infant in a hot car for nearly two hours, where temperatures reached 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

According to a probable cause statement, police were called to the CSL Plasma Center in South Salt Lake on Wednesday, June 4, after being told an infant was crying inside a car.

When police arrived at the center, the caller showed them security camera footage of the situation. The child's mother, identified as 30-year-old Leinara Tioa, was seen in the footage checking on her child before entering the center at 3:43 p.m. Tioa is also reportedly seen returning to the vehicle at 5:23 p.m., looking in the rear driver side window where the child was, before returning to the center.
