Sean Manaea is set to begin his rehab stint.

The left-handed Mets starter has yet to make his season debut as he deals with a right oblique strain.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza provided an update.

Manaea will make his first rehab start with the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones on Friday. He is expected to throw around 35 pitches.

Manaea threw 29 pitches in a live bull pen earlier this week that Mendoza said “went well.”

Manaea returned to the Mets this offseason on a three-year, $75 million contract. With the Mets last year, he posted a 3.47 ERA over 181 2/3 innings pitched.
