LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police Department Captain Max Hubka graduated Thursday from the FBI National Academy, joining just two other LPD members who also share this achievement.

Hubka became an officer in 2009 and is currently assigned as the commander of the Northeast team. During his career, he has served as a drug recognition expert, SWAT team member, gang unit investigator, patrol sergeant and duty commander.

239 law enforcement officers completed the 294th session of the academy – an honor fewer than 1% of officers ever achieve. Over the past 10 weeks in Quantico, Virginia, Hubka tackled advanced leadership and fitness training, completed five master’s-level courses and earned a master’s certificate in criminal justice leadership from the University of Virginia.
