PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A Central Peoria woman has been charged in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred on Peoria's Riverfront earlier this week.

Deziaah Hunter, 19, is scheduled to appear later Thursday in Peoria County Circuit Court on the sole charge of aggravated battery with a firearm, a felony that carries a mandatory prison term of six to 30 years if he's convicted.

The charge alleges she shot 18-year-old Kenadee Wallenfang on Tuesday afternoon. There is no mention in the charge about Wallenfang's death.

Peoria County prosecutors have also asked a judge to order her held pending the outcome of her case. A hearing that could occur today or tomorrow.

So far, a motive to the shooting has not yet been released.
