GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — School may be out, but District 51 teachers deserve year-round praise! Amber Shannon is the math teacher for sixth and seventh grade at Mount Garfield Middle School. Throughout her time at MGMS, she has always gone above and beyond each day to ensure that all students are cared for and loved.

Shannon told WesternSlopeNow her goal as a teacher is always, “...trying to get kids to think logically and be able to apply that in all aspects of their life.”

The WesternSlopeNow team was lucky enough to surprise Ms. Shannon on the very last day of school, but the students were all incredibly engaged with the lesson, hanging onto every word Ms. Shannon said. To these kids, every day in Ms. Shannon’s class feels like a fun day!
