Ihear it from my customers all the time – prices are too high. At Kalypso Restaurant, I do everything I can to keep prices low but manufacturers keep raising their prices and so I am forced to do the same. The last thing we need is Albany making the high costs of goods worse.
The Harckham/Glick Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) bill could impact our access to key grocery supplies, disrupting my way of doing business and making essential items more expensive. My customers, particularly the low-income families I serve, cannot afford this.
I support policies that aim to improve recycling in New York but this EPR proposal misses the mark. Why can’t these legislators bring local businesses to the table to talk about ways we can improve recycling without costing us all more money?
