A proposal to build a brand-new Costco Wholesale store in West St. Paul will be the subject of a public hearing on June 12, giving residents a chance to weigh in on the potential development.

The application, submitted by WSP Canada Inc., outlines plans for a 161,992-square-foot retail warehouse at 71 and 81 Meadowland Dr. in Winnipeg. The proposal also includes a gas station and a seasonal outdoor garden centre, which would serve as accessory uses to the main store.

The site covers nearly 21 acres and is zoned “CH” for commercial highway use. It is designated as a “Settlement Centre” in the Red River Planning District Development Plan and identified as a commercial centre in the Middlechurch Secondary Plan.
