NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - Isolated showers and storms have started popping up along our coastal areas as of Thursday afternoon.

Heading into the later afternoon and early evening, we'll see additional showers and storms along the South Shore, northern Parishes and Mississippi counties, but know that not everyone will see these nor do they pose any sort of severe weather threat. Although, you may experience heavier rainfall and hear rumbles of thunder at points. Showers and storms should move out of the area by the time we get to 9 p.m. (and then make a comeback for your Friday afternoon!)

In addition to the showers and storms, it will be a toasty one as we reach up to that 90-degree mark and some spots will even surpass it. As of 2 p.m., Bogalusa was at 93-degrees and Gonzales reached 95-degr
