VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — An Evansville man is in jail facing online child sex crime charges as the result of an investigation, according to authorities.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office says 42-year-old Christopher Evans was taken into custody following a months-long investigation.

The investigation began in February 2025, when detectives received a cybertip identifying an IP address used to distribute suspected child sex abuse material.

Detectives said they traced the IP address to Evans, and also linked additional cybertips to him.

VCSO says a search warrant was obtained for Evans' residence in Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park, and served on Thursday.
