A New Jersey man is believed to have fatally shot his girlfriend and her 10-year-old daughter before turning the gun on himself, authorities said Thursday.

The suspected double murder-suicide happened shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday in Hamilton Township, just a few miles south of Trenton.

According to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, law enforcement responding to a 911 call walked into a grisly scene at a home on Henry Street, where they discovered all three people suffering gunshot wounds.

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released their names nor said what led to the bloodshed.

It’s also unclear who called 911.

Prosecutors provided no further information upon request.
