METROPOLIS, Ill. (WSIL) -- The sky over Metropolis will light up with the Superman Takes Flight Drone Show, a key highlight of the 2025 Superman Celebration.

The show, featuring 200 synchronized drones, will take place on Saturday, June 14 at 8:30 p.m. in the Harrah’s parking lot.

“The Superman Takes Flight Drone Show is the perfect fusion of innovation and imagination,” said Trish Steckenrider, Executive Director for the Greater Metropolis Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We’re excited to bring this cutting-edge tribute to the world’s greatest superhero to our celebration weekend.”

This 15-minute spectacle will showcase Superman soaring above the city in a dazzling light show choreographed to music.
