Ole Miss head men’s golf coach Chris Malloy is receiving national recognition for his club’s historic campaign.

Malloy was named Golfweek’s Men’s College Golf Coach of the Year on Thursday after his team’s most prolific season in program history. In October 2024, the Rebels earned their first-ever No. 1 national ranking and later entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed for the first time.

Those were not the only “firsts” for the club, either. Malloy led Ole Miss to its first match play appearance in the NCAA Championships, where the Rebels ultimately ended their season with a third-place finish, their best ever, after narrowly falling to eventual national titleholder Oklahoma State.
