NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- North Myrtle Beach officials on Thursday named three finalists for the position of city manager.

Acting City Manager Ryan Fabbri, Edwin Madden and Tim Owens are among the candidates being considered to permanently replace Mike Mahaney, who was ousted in October over claims that he failed to pursue hiring a grants coordinator despite multiple requests by the city council.

Mahaney, who had been the city manager since 2010, later filed documents in January indicating that he that would run for mayor. Mayor Marilyn Hatley is currently in her sixth term in office.

City leaders met in executive session on Thursday before announcing the three finalists in the afternoon. They plan to meet in another executive session at 11 a.m. on Friday to continue their disc
