ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - This week, law enforcement in two of our local jurisdictions put out alerts about missing children.
The most recent, a five-year-old, missing out of Campbell County . Peyton Knight was last reported seen with her dad, Cal Lee Davis, Jr.
Some have asked why this case didn’t set off an AMBER Alert. WDBJ7’s Kaira Willis took that question to Virginia State Police, who are responsible for AMBER Alerts .
Law enforcement agencies in Virginia must submit the information related to each incident to Virginia State Police, and VSP is the only agency authorized to send out an AMBER or CODI Alert on behalf of that requesting agency.
