Utah Food Bank recently announced in a press release that the United States Department of Agriculture has officially declared sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program.

The program will extend Utah Food Bank’s Kids Cafe program by providing free meals to children 18 years of age and under in both “Open Sites” and “Enrolled Programs."

Approximately 215,000 meals will be served at 60 sites through the Summer Food Service Program, and consist of either breakfast, lunch or dinner depending on the site. Sites will serve either individual meals or a box of non-perishable meals containing seven breakfasts and seven lunches. Utah Food Bank will prepare meals for “Open Sites” and “Closed Enrolled Sites” throughout the state. Kids must be present to receive their meals.
