SEATTLE — Documents released by the Office of the Inspector General reveal more about the investigation into ex-Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz and the allegations that he was having an affair with his chief of staff, Jamie Tompkins.

The city began looking into Diaz's alleged relationship with Tompkins in 2024. He was placed on paid administrative leave and later fired based on the results of the investigation.

The documents turned over by the Inspector General's office include interviews with Diaz, Tompkins, and two members of Diaz's security detail who claim that the ex-chief outright told them that he and Tompkins were in a relationship.

Diaz and Tompkins have both denied the affair.
