DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol said an arrest has been made in the fatal hit-and-run that killed a Goose Creek employee.

Terrell Darrel Crawford, 37, of North Charleston, is charged with hit-and-run involving death.

The crash killed Kelly Farmer , 46, who was found on Dorchester Road after he was struck by a vehicle while walking near Tabby Lane at approximately 6:58 a.m., Coroner Paul Brouthers said.

The crash occurred a mile west of Summerville, near Middleton Boulevard.

Investigators say he was struck by Crawford, who was heading east of Summerville.

Family members describe Farmer as a ‘kind, gentle and loving’ person and said she doesn’t believe the incident was intentional.
