CARTHAGE, Mo. — Summer in the Ozarks means watersports on area rivers and lakes, and the Missouri Department of Conservation got a jump on summer with a program on canoeing Wednesday at Kellogg Lake in Carthage.

With a particular emphasis on safety, the program — which was targeted for first-time canoeists — also offered tips on how to more fully enjoy what Missouri offers. ×
