The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is opening a major photography exhibit exploring the work of Ansel Adams on Saturday, June 7.
“ Discovering Ansel Adams ,” which runs through Sept. 28, features 124 works spanning the seven-decade career of the iconic photographer. It also includes 10 portraits of Adams by other artists and archival materials like Adams’ compass and exposure meters, letters and magazines, a news release noted.
The exhibit includes rarely seen photos Adams took as a teenager during a visit to Yosemite National Park in California and an interactive facsimile of an early photo album that he assembled.
The exhibit is presented by Kirsten and David Griffin and organized by the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona with the support of the Museum
