BROOKLYN — On June 6, the Brooklyn Museum will debut Brooklyn artist Melissa Joseph’s “Tender,” a grand-scale textile mural covering the museum’s Iris Cantor Plaza steps, according to Time Out New York .
Part of the 2025 UOVO Prize, the site-specific work features needle-felted portraits, made from wool and recycled Indian sari silk, of intimate moments between the fiber artist’s loved ones, reflecting themes of connection and rest. A second mural by Joseph is displayed at UOVO’s Bushwick facility.
“Tender” will stay until Nov. 2, 2025, and the second mural until June 2026.
