LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Mitch Holthus’ view inside Arrowhead Stadium typically involves wearing a headset. The Chiefs play-by-play announcer, however, will have a different experience for the game played in Kansas City on August 28th.
The first game at the famed stadium will not be an NFL contest. Rather, Nebraska will kick off its 2025 season three hours south of Lincoln against Cincinnati. The game will be a home contest for the Bearcats, though thousands of Husker fans have purchased tickets for the Week 1 match-up.
“Its super exciting,” Holthus said. “That stadium will be electric. It is anyway when the Chiefs play. Now you get the Huskers in there.”
Holthus predicts a vibrant tailgating scene with the game scheduled for an 8 o’clock start. Nebraska has not played at Arrowhead Stadiu
