The owner of a Shoals daycare could face more serious charges after the death of an infant.

Court documents revealed the Franklin County District Attorney's Office aims to present new evidence against Angelene Chamblee to a grand jury.

Prosecutors recently dropped eight charges, including operating a daycare without a license and forgery, against Chamblee. Law enforcement arrested her along with four Tiny Tigers Daycare employees in 2022.

A hearing for one of those employees, Payton Gann, is set for Monday. Her mother, Teia Gann, previously pleaded guilty to witness tampering.

Another employee, Hannah Letson, will go to trial in August.

The last employee received youthful offender status.
