NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The launch day for the Nintendo Switch 2 was Thursday and it was an exciting day for military gamers. They got to line up at one of many stores just to buy the next generation Nintendo machine.

Dozens of people lined up for the console at the Navy Exchange in Norfolk before the store opened. The "NEX," as some call it, is for service members, their immediate family, veterans and anyone with exchange privileges. They do not have to pay taxes there.

Many of the people in line were gamers. Others were spouses buying a console for loved ones currently underway, and a few were buying one for their children.
