LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — After two special meetings on Thursday, Eaton County and Delta Township reached a tentative agreement on the financial framework for a new 10-year police services contract.
Under the agreement, Delta Township would pay around $8 million for dedicated police services each year—including personnel, equipment, training, and administrative support.
The agreement comes amid significant financial challenges in the county and the failure of a proposed public safety millage in May.
Eaton County would provide the township with 38 deputies and command officers and two supporting staff. The county says this would be five more officers than the township previously received. The framework also includes a 15% administrative fee, one-time deposits into the County's pension syst
