BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A former Sanborn resident was sentenced to 364 days in prison after previously pleading guilty for her role in a February 2024 crash that killed a passenger in the vehicle she was driving, the Niagara County District Attorney's Office said.
Ninaatikwe A. Hamby, 20, pleaded guilty to second-degree vehicular manslaughter in August 2024.
Hamby admitted to driving under the influence of cannabis and officials said she was driving her vehicle at 100 miles per hour before crashing her vehicle at the intersection of Walmore Road and Upper Mountain Road in Sanborn. The crash resulted in the death of a 20-year-old male, who was the backseat passenger, and seriously injured another passenger.
