LOGAN — The Logan City Police Department is warning residents about a series of text messages that are attempting to steal money and personal information from local community members. The scams are similar to other messages appearing to be sent from neighboring government agencies.

Logan City Police Lt. Brett Randall said local 911 dispatch operators have received several calls during the past day from citizens, inquiring about the validity of the messages. Several other people have gone to the police department, questioning whether or not the messages are legitimate.
