CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - All southbound lanes on I-85 in northeast Charlotte were closed Thursday evening due to a vehicle crash, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Officials said the vehicle crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, near University City Boulevard Exit 43.

The department of transportation said at 5:30 p.m. all lanes had reopened.

Medic said that one person was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

As of this writing the cause of the vehicle crash had not been released.
