EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — Crews battled a house fire Thursday afternoon in which all occupants got out safely but a dog needed resuscitation, police said.

The fire on Tudor Street occurred at 2:17 p.m. The initial report was for a porch fire, but police arrived to find the home engulfed in flames, the department said.

Members of the Farmington, Cardiff, Bargaintown and Scullville volunteer fire companies battled the blaze for over an hour. Township EMS also responded.

A dog was recovered from inside the home and was resuscitated by EMTs. The dog's owner transported it to a local veterinary hospital, police said.

The fire is under investigation, though police said it is believed to be accidental, likely caused by an electric scooter that was plugged in on the front porch.
