Home listings, prices and sales rose in Northwest Indiana in April as the homebuying season kicked off.

New listings rose by 11.2% to 707, pending sales by 14.6% to 572 and the median sales price by 1.3% to $238,000 in April in Lake County, according to the Northwest Indiana Realtors Association. So far this year, listings have risen 6.5% to 2,217, pending sales by 4.1% to 1,825 and the average sales price by 5.7% to $261,589 in Lake County, according to NIRA.

In Porter County, new listings rose by 6.5% to 217, pending sales by 0.6% to 181 and the median sales price by 3% to $290,000 in April, according to NIRA. So far this year, pending sales have risen by 8% to 702, pending sales by 9.6% to 181 and the average sales prices by 3.5% to $344,050 in Porter County.
