BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Kushner Cos. settled a 2023 lawsuit with investor BLS Holdco, which alleged deception in a $36.5 million purchase of six multifamily buildings from Brooklyn Law School in 2014, according to Crain’s New York Business .

BLS claimed Kushner misrepresented that only seven of 77 units were rent-stabilized, when all were, leading to legal battles and losses after 2019 rent laws. That specific number of rent-stabilized apartments was key in BLS decision to invest.

According to Crain’s, one of these buildings was 18 Sidney Pl., which sits across the street from a prominent Catholic parish.
