NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- A Norfolk woman is seeking the community's assistance after her dog suffered a gunshot wound on Tuesday night. She has set up a GoFundMe to raise money for her dog's medical expenses.
The dog owner, Enrie Lynn Dela-Cruz Ramos, allowed Max outside on Tuesday night to answer nature's call. However, he returned with a gunshot wound to the nose, blood from his mouth and several teeth missing.
“He just got back bleeding in his mouth and then his teeth came off in the side and then he was just crying,” said Enrie Lynn, Max's owner.
Enrie Lynn said she spotted someone running away after hearing the gunshot.
“I hear a gunshot, and I saw the guy run away. I let my dog go inside in the house. He jumped up into the bathroom to just hide,” she said.
