HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — A Honduran man was sentenced to prison and is set to be deported after he was arrested in Hurricane following a traffic stop, prosecutors said.

Wilson Geovanny Nunez, 36, was arrested by authorities in December 2024 after a traffic stop before U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed that he was a citizen of Honduras and was in the country illegally, according to a news release from the United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of West Virginia.

ICE agents also confirmed that Nunez had been deported six times previously between 2014 through 2021 and had no identification documents granting legal status.

Nunez was sentenced to seven months of incarceration before his deportation.
