NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The heat will be the main story heading in to the weekend. Temperatures Friday through Sunday will top out in the low 90s for a good portion of the area, especially I-10 and northward. Overnight lows will stay warm with mid to upper 70s. Humidity will stay elevated as well.

Friday looks almost identical to what we saw on Thursday. Look for mostly sunny conditions and then a few daytime heating showers popping up by later in the afternoon. This activity will be spotty but as usual we have a bit better chance in the immediate New Orleans area. This looks to be the case on Saturday as well.

Most of Sunday also looks hot and dry. Changes could start to move in though by late Sunday and Monday as the ridge looks to back off allowing rounds of showers and storms to develop
