HASTINGS, Neb. — The City of Hastings is holding a family friendly rivalry as the fire and police departments host their annual Battle of the Badges blood drive.
“Vote Team Blue,” Kyle Williamson, Hastings Police Sergeant, said.
“I’ll tell them to pick the right color and if they pick the wrong color, you know, might need to get some new glasses,” Travis Nolan, Hastings Fire and Rescue Fire Inspector, said.
It’s the sixth-annual Battle of the Badges blood drive that has been strengthened by community support.
“So far, it’s been great turn out. People are constantly walking through the door,” Nolan noted.
For donors, you get to pick between a blue and red card to vote for either the Hastings Police or Fire Department.
