OKLAHOMA CITY — Texas softball took a big step toward its first national championship with a thrilling 2-1 win in game of the best-of-three series against Texas Tech in the championship of the Women's College World Series.

All-American catcher Reese Atwood broke an 0-for-10 skid at the WCWS with a two-RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning, and pitcher Teagan Kavan threw her third complete-game win of the WCWS while allowing just three hits.
